Lifelong Learning

Lifelong Learning

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:1

As the world of information expands, critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities are needed to help the child succeed in their life goals. We are deeply committed to helping children discover their interests and nurture healthy curiosity.  We insist on being academically excellent and distinctly Christian. We are raising the next generation who knows and loves Jesus Christ through this. From our curriculum to our teachers, we are excited to offer a Christ-glorifying education experience.

We are excited to offer a learning experience distinct from the other private schools in Franklin, TN. Our lower student/teacher ratio enables us to provide individualized learning plans and tailor instruction to each student in our small classes. We partner with Christian families by offering a biblically saturated curriculum and a classroom environment that reflects traditional Christian virtues.

Challenging Academics

Generations Christian Academy is a private, religious, mission-oriented, educational organization where every employee is responsible for providing examples, training, and encouragement to others for practical Christian living in accordance with biblical standards and the basic religious doctrines of the historic, evangelical Christian faith.

Student Life

We have a wide variety of activities available as extracurriculars for our students. Cross Country, Track, Gold, and Basketball are available, as well as others. We also encourage fine arts involvement in art, music, worship, musical instruments, and film. Our Arts and Sports departments practice the mindset that all competition and arts are for the glory of God and that our skills and abilities are gifts from Him, designed to empower us to serve others rather than ourselves.

Our students’ religious discipleship is also a high calling, with chapel and prayer events, as well as public speaking training and opportunities. 1 Peter 3:15 says, “Be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have,” and we approach the spiritual training of our students with that goal in mind.

Academic Excellence

Our school’s mission is to help students achieve their fullest potential. We have a robust academic curriculum to serve all students’ needs.

We pride ourselves in our affiliation with the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) and the State of Tennessee Department of Education. Our affiliation with the ASCI helps us to provide education for our students. This education inspires and helps them grow closer to Jesus Christ. Our involvement with the State of Tennessee Department of Education means that we have access to the best ways to teach your kids. We aim to meet students at their level and find an educational plan that best suits them.

Another way we help students is by providing a comprehensive curriculum. We aim to teach students the essentials. Math, literature, social studies, the fine arts, writing, communicating, and physical fitness are just a few things we offer at GCA.

Finally, we have unmatched testing standards. Our entrance assessment, which uses the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, will test students’ reading, math, and writing knowledge. We give benchmark assessments for students from kindergarten to 8th grade in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, which tests their Math and Reading abilities. Our 9th-10th grade students will be administered the Iowa Assessment, which will help us see how students are doing against nationwide standards.

Extracurricular Activities

We have plenty of extracurricular activities for students to choose from. We offer cross-country and basketball for athletic students, with plans to add more sports in the future. We offer karate, robotics, and chess clubs and plan to add media, entrepreneurship, and other clubs later. Students can take field trips to learn, have fun, and perform community services to help their fellow man and form everlasting connections.

One way our extracurricular activities help students is by allowing them to discover new hobbies, forge a path to the future, and meet new friends in their journey. Our extracurricular classes are more personalized, with a low student-to-teacher ratio.

An issue many schools have is that their classes are too large. We believe that all teachers try their best with what they have, but when there are too many students, mistakes can happen, and each student may not reach their fullest potential. We try to keep each classroom with enough students to create a community and build friendships but small enough so the teacher can reach each student equally.

We’ll work with your students to help them find their God-given purpose. As always, we provide the tools needed to fulfill that purpose.

Family-Centered Private School

Many parents have issues with schools nowadays because they feel like their voices aren’t heard. They may have concerns about their child’s well-being while in school or worry that what the child is being taught contradicts their values and beliefs.

GCA fosters family involvement, with parents and teachers working together to find the best educational path for their child. Questions or concerns as a parent? We’ll answer them and guide them through our teaching process.

Our staff works to let your child feels like they belong. Some students may feel like they don’t fit in or feel different in some way. Our staff works to find strengths in our differences. We also help everyone feel like they’re part of the same team.

Life Beyond School

GCA watches students grow from kids to young men and women. One issue many public schools, even some private schools, have is not preparing the students for life after graduation.

This is because many schools focus only on teaching students essential knowledge and skills but don’t work with them to find their strengths and interests. We work with each student to understand their strengths and weaknesses. Our inspiration from God and our extracurricular programs help to accomplish this.

In addition, we provide students with resources that will help them grow once they leave our school. From improving their skills to finding careers that suit their strengths, we work with them to make life beyond school one to remember!
