Generations Christian School Near Forest Hills, TN

Generations Christian Academy is a private Christian school near Forest Hills, Tennessee. We serve all the way from PreK up through 10th-grade students. We are adding a grade level every year so that we ultimately offer a complete learning experience of PreK through 12th grade because we want to reach as many students as possible by stretching across the years of elementary school, middle school, and high school.

Located in downtown Franklin, Generations Christian Academy is only 11 miles from Forest Hills, making it an easy commute for those seeking a Christ-centered, high caliber private school option for their children.

GCA is approved by the state of Tennessee and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The central focus of our academic curriculum is instilling a biblical worldview in our students and doing everything with a faith-based emphasis.

Because a safe environment is a matter of great importance to us, we ensure that our students feel safe interacting with teachers and with each other. Our halls are always a space full of laughter and smiling. Our study times also contribute to this because they are designed to be productive and give the students a feeling of accomplishment rather than making them feel like their time was wasted in class. Especially within the high schools of America, there is a decline in community and a feeling of acceptance and safety for the students. We work every day to be that space for your children because we want nothing more than to see them thrive.

Lifelong Learning

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:1

As the world of information expands, critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities are needed to help the child succeed in their life goals. We are deeply committed to helping children discover their interests and nurture healthy curiosity. We insist on being academically excellent and distinctly Christian. We are raising the next generation who knows and loves Jesus Christ through this. From our curriculum to our teachers, we are excited to offer a Christ-glorifying education experience.

We are excited to offer a learning experience distinct from the other private schools in Franklin, TN. Our lower student/teacher ratio enables us to provide individualized learning plans and tailor instruction to each student in our small classes. We partner with Christian families by offering a biblically saturated curriculum and a classroom environment that reflects traditional Christian virtues.

Challenging Academics

All GCA faculty members is individually responsible for setting a good example of what it means to be a part of a private, religious, missions-oriented, educational organization. These employees provide education and training that helps with practical, Christian living that lines up with biblical standards, as well as respecting the basic, religious doctrines of the historic evangelical Christian faith.

Student Life

One of our top priorities is to promote a healthy, life-loving attitude among our students. One of the ways we do this is by making sure we have plenty of extracurricular activities available. Some of these activities include Cross Country, Track, Gold, and Basketball, as well as many others. We also strongly encourage students to engage in the fine arts, such as musical instruments, worship, and film.

Both our arts and sports departments pursue their goals with the mindset that all competition and every piece of art should be created and achieved for the glory of God. Our skills and abilities are gifts from Him and should be used for directing others towards our Savior, rather than bringing glory to our own selves.

Perhaps our highest calling is our students’ religious discipleship. We have chapel, prayer events, and public speaking training opportunities that all help prepare each student to go out into the world and reflect Jesus through their words.

“Be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:14

Academic Excellence

We have a robust academic curriculum that is designed to help our students reach their full potential, prepping them to go out and earn advanced degrees should they wish, all while still meeting their needs.

We are aligned with the ASCI as well as the Tennesee Department of Education. The ASCI is what helps us provide education for our students that inspires and assists in growing closer to Jesus, while the State of Tennesee Department of Education allows us to have access to the absolute best ways to teach your kids. We strive to meet students where they’re at and fit an education plan to specific lifestyles, learning differences, and levels of ability.

Our comprehensive curriculum includes, math, literature, social studies, fine arts, writing, and communication, and the list doesn’t stop there! Many other subjects are included so that our students are well-rounded and prepared to enter the world of adulthood.

Additionally, and very importantly, our testing standards are unmatched. Our entrance assessment utilizes the Kaufman Test of Education Achievement, which tests the students’ reading, math, and writing abilities. For students in kindergarten through 8th grade, we provide benchmark assessments three times per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) that test math and reading. For any student in 9th or 10th grade, we administer the Iowa Assessment to test the student’s abilities compared to nationwide standards.

Extracurricular Activities

You saw a short list of extracurriculars we offer, but let’s cover a few more.

For those students leaning towards the sports mindset, we have several options such as basketball and cross-country, as well as many clubs offering a variety of interests such as karate, robotics, and chest.

We are continuously working to keep our students from both the lower school and upper school engaged and loving their school life as well as bonding with the people around them. One of the ways we do that is through field trips designed to have fun, sometimes perform community service, and always form lifelong connections.

Extracurricular activities are so important because they allow students to explore new hobbies, look to the future, and meet friends along the way.

Many schools find themselves with students and teachers who are disconnected from each other. A lot of that has to do with the fact that there just aren’t enough teachers to go around. We know that teachers do the best they can with what they’re given, but having too many students means making mistakes and stifling the true potential of individuals. This is why we strive for a balance between enough students to build community, but not so many that the teacher can’t connect with every single student in a meaningful way.

Family-Centered Private School

One of the chief concerns for parents these days is that they don’t feel like their voices are being heard when it comes to their children’s schooling. They might have concerns about their child’s well-being or worry that the teaching contradicts their values and beliefs, but their one voice gets lost among the thousands.

At GCA, we foster family involvement. Our goal is to have parents and teachers working together to find the best education path for their children and take steps to achieve that.

Sometimes, students don’t feel like they quite belong. Our staff understands that and works to create a connection with each student and find strength in each unique individual. We want everyone to feel like a part of the same team.

Life Beyond School

With the nearly complete set of grades that we offer, we at GCA watch students go from little kids to young men and women of God. It’s not right that young adults find themselves graduating high school with no preparation for what comes next, but, unfortunately, that’s often what happens in public schools.

This is because many schools focus heavily on teaching students academic essentials, but not on finding the strengths and weaknesses of each person. It leaves students floundering after high school, wondering who they are, and what they want to do.

For this reason, we are dedicated to preparing our students with the life essentials as well as the academic ones. Our extracurriculars are geared towards helping students learn and grow, and we also provide many resources that students can take with them as they leave our school.

From honing skill sets to finding careers, we are devoted to providing education that goes beyond school and helps form your young person into someone committed to God.
