Arts are part of the core curriculum at Generations Christian Academy. From Pre-K 1-4 and on up to Kindergarten through Grade 12, our students have many opportunities to explore their creative process, embrace imagination, and cultivate an appreciation for fine arts, entrepreneurship.
GCA athletics promotes teamwork, discipline, and Christlike sportsmanship, encouraging students to compete with excellence while honoring God both on and off the field.
Each member of the Generations Christian Academy community makes valuable contributions to our school’s core values and culture. As a community, our combined partnerships help create an exceptional experience for our students.
In our visual arts classes, students will learn to understand and apply many elements and principles of art, while incorporating a wide range of media. Basic skills and knowledge necessary to be proficient in each of the different art forms will be taught throughout each grade and season of schooling.
We believe that art isn’t just an add-on for what kids can do but that it is foundational in academic and creative growth–teaching kids important skills, giving them opportunity to learn through creativity, and giving them a hands-on creative outlet. Our art program focuses on building technical proficiency while encouraging creative expression and developing an eye for composition, color theory, and artistic voice.
As students explore a variety of mediums—such as working with clay, painting, drawing, pastels, chalk, and more—they not only develop artistic skills but also gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty, order, and creativity found in God’s creation. Each medium allows students to engage with different elements of the world God designed, while also learning discipline, craftsmanship, and expression that honors Him. Rather than seeing art as just self-expression, students begin to view it as a meaningful way to communicate truth, reflect beauty, and glorify God in all they create.
Our annual art show is an opportunity for students to use their God-given creativity to reflect His beauty, truth, and order while working diligently toward a meaningful goal. This not only gives opportunity for kids to practice and develop their artistic skills, but also serves as a great teacher for patience, discipline, and excellence as acts of worship The art show gives them a chance to present their work with purpose, helping them experience the reward of perseverance and the joy of creating something that honors God. It also builds confidence as students share their work with others, recognizing that their gifts can be used to glorify Him and encourage those around them.
